The following sites provides some information on this, but even with following their guidance, I'm still striking out. So if the original DOCX file was saved in compatibility mode, the new file continues to be in compatibility mode despite it being a DOCX. Among many other formats this converter supports MS. The problem is that if the CompatibilityMode parameter is omitted, Word will default to save the compatibility mode as 0 which maintains the current document compatibility mode rather than updating it to the latest Word version. The problem I am running into is many of the DOCX files are in compatibility mode, and I would like to remove the compatibility mode setting and save the files in the current format. You can either work in Compatibility Mode or you can convert your document to the Word 2016 or Word 2013 file format.
